Played one game for Wilkes-Barre. Last name was all that was known when I began research.

There was a very talented guard named Joe Mahoney who played basketball (and baseball) for Meyers High School in Wilkes-Barre in 1936-37 season. It am pretty sure it is him. He played went to St. Thomas College in 1937, and the school became the University of Scranton in 1938. He would serve in the U.S. Navy during World War 2, and was living in Hartford in 1943. He saw his duty in the Pacific Theater. He retired from the Coast Guard with the rank of commander.

He married Nancy Mack and they had at least two daughter, the youngest born in Jan 1948 or Dec 1947
