A graduate of FDU, Maselan played briefly with the Reds in the 1937-38 ABL season. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War 2 and later worked as a probation officer in Hackensack, New Jersey.
He married Millicent Prina in 1942 and they had one son.
His name is spelled "Manzon" and "Maslin" in some boxscores/
