After leading CCNY to a 41-6 record over his three seasons on the varsity squad, Spahn would go on to be one of the best players in the ABL. He lead the league in scoring in his rookie year, and was the runner up to the MVP award 1935-36 and 1936-37 before winning it outright in 1937-38. He was on five ABL championship teams, all while working as assistant coach at CCNY where he was earning his Master's Degree. He would eventually go on to NYU to earn his Ph.D.  His post-basketball life was dedicated to education. He was the headmaster at Franklin School in Manhattan for 25 years as well as a camp director at Camp Winaukee in New Hampshire and Tripp Lake Camp in Maine.

Moe died of heart failure in 1991. He and his wife and one son and one daughter.
