When the Cleveland Rosenblums disbanded on December 8, 1930, five of their players signed with Toledo: Joe Lapchick, Pete Barry, Dutch Dehnert, Lou Spindell and Dutch Shudtz. At this point, manager Ed Cannon dismissed Cunningham, Ely, Gillium, Brandes, Shepard and Koehler.
