Playoffs - Forfeited to Seattle

The team with the best overall record in the PCBL in 1947-48, Bellingham added Vancouver's Norm Baker to the roster for the playoffs. Bellingham defeated Seattle in the opening game, 84-77. Don Baker, Seattle's owner, protested the acquisition of Baker, and the League President Ray Clark (also part-owner of Portland) declared the game a forfeit. Bellingham appealed, threatening to withdraw from the playoffs if the decision. It stood, and Bellingham walked away.

** Once the 1947-48 regular season was over, Vancouver was eliminated and Baker signed with Bellingham for the playoffs. He played in the first playoff game against Seattle. Seattle filed a protest, saying that Baker was not properly signed by Bellingham per the league rules. The 84-77 Bellingham win was revered to a Seattle victory by forfeit. In protest, Bellingham quit the league. So in short, Baker appeared in one game for Bellingham where the results didn't don't count.
