Born in Louisville to Harold and Rose Huber.
Huber played one season in the NBL before entering the U.S. Navy to fight World War 2, stationed in the Pacific. Despite making $10,000 to play for Akron, he didn't think there was much of a career opportunity in basketball. He quit to sell furniture, eventually becoming a vice president at Thomasville. He and his wife moved to Orlando in 1972. Huber died of a heart attack in 2005.
He married Ruth (1918-1996) and had a daughter, Sandy Donnan, and a son, Michael (dec.)
